La Caravane (The Caravan) is the parade created by and for race sponsors that goes off two hours ahead of the riders in the Tour De France. It was founded in 1930, conjured up by Tour founder Henri Desgrange. Conceived originally as a way to pay for the organizer-supplied bicycles that riders had to use at the time. Behind the riders, there is a retinue of team support cars, motorcycles for spares, filming and race officials. It's like a whole circus and major sporting event operations crew on wheels.
La Caravane celebrates the spectacle of the caravan, highlighting some classic vehicles from cycling's golden age.
Our Resort Shirt is not just an original design but a totally unique new product. Featuring a traditional shirt collar and a button-down casual fit with the same high-end Italian performance fabrics we use for our jerseys. The result is a super breathable and stylish shirt you can wear from the office to your gravel group ride.
"At a glance, it's just a normal shirt. Put it on however and you realize it's made of the same material as the best cycling jerseys. If you've never ridden in a shirt before you're missing out; on hot days the additional airflow more than offsets the aero drawbacks (unless you're actually racing), and having one made of Lycra elevates the form even more over cotton and linen offerings.
Perfect for dress-down Friday at the office before heading straight from work for a quick blast to the pub in the sunshine without needing an awkward wardrobe change in the loos." - Cycling Tips
